La Marina, Arenal
- On the banks of the canal
Port de la Fontana. Tel: 96 579 0629 |
||
|
This is a restaurant
suitable for a
special occasion
where you can dress up if
you want. Discreet atmosphere with white tablecloths, so ideal for your first
date of a holiday romance or that special anniversary.
Service: Staff are friendly and prepared to go that extra mile, they made a special vegetarian dish for me that was not on the menu, and which was excellent. Review by Magpie |
Open In the evenings
but not sure of the hours. In summer, booking would be
advisable.
Cuisine is Spanish, but in the modern style associated with better restaurants in the bigger cities. |

Very nice pizza and pasta restaurant out in the sticks.
Good wines and good food at not too frightening prices. |

Medium sized bar/restaurant.
Busy
every lunchtime. Paco's wife
sorts out the cooking while José, Paco's son in law, runs the bar/restaurant.
Excellent service and atmosphere!
They say this is the
'original'
Jávea tapas bar.
A very popular place, so may be best to book.
Service: Good. Friendly atmosphere. Sometimes typically loud, in a nice friendly Spanish way. Update: I visited recently with friends and was pleased to find that the comments above still very much apply. |
Open
- 9.00 am - 1.00 am
Specialities: Tapas and more tapas, a good 6 metres of tapas on display. All fresh! Just ask for José's recommendations. And trust him! Excellent midday menu @ around 12 euros with wine, very good value for money! |

Paseo Arenal, Parador end in passage.
|
This is a small pizza and pasta bar restaurant. All fresh made by Paulo, who
does know what he is doing.
Choose from the menu or select your own toppings for the pizza. Possibly the best pizzas in Javea. Seats inside and outside on the terrace. |
Open
- evenings 'til Late...
Specialities: Fresh made pizza and pasta, á la Paulo. Service: Suzie always has a smile, Paulo has a sense of humour ;+) |

Cuadros |
Main Javea - Gata road. | ||
| This place is a jewel of a restaurant! The Gata/Javea version of a typical sunday, family lunch is to be had here. Everything (and I mean everything) is cooked on a wood fire. Mostly vine cuttings (they give such a great flavour) are used plus some almond wood, orange wood and carob for good measure. They start cooking the meat in the morning and by lunch time you don't need a knife to cut it! |
Open
- About mid-day 'til night. Didn't check but go by and
reserve
, 'cos there'll be a lot of spanish families there.
Specialities: Just about everything is special. Go for the set meal and eat what they put in front of you. This is rural food 'par excellence'. |
||
Dillinger's |
Paseo Arenal , near the middle.
|
Gangster inspired
menu with great photos of America in the early 1900's.
Another good English restaurant! Good food, selection of inexpensive menus and
some
really 'dangerous' deserts.
I'm usually held hostage by
'Apple Betty'.
They have high chairs for the littler ones and a terrace.
Stop press If you say you have seen this web page you may well get a free beer. He he he. Ain't what you know! |
Open
- About mid-day 'til night. Closed a couple of hours around 5 til 7, I think.
Specialities: Good English style cooking. Inexpensive range of menus from around 7 euros (inc. full bottle of wine) or similar Á la Carte. |

Between the port and arenal, along the
rocky sea front.
Avda. Mediterraneo, 186 Tel: 96 579 1379 |

Smallish bar/restaurant with a small 2-level terrace facing onto Javea's gravel
beach.
Slightly different menu items and in the winter a
good home-cooked Menu del dia.
Service: Good, friendly, easy to get to know ... Learn Spanish! Quite a local crowd sometimes. Good evening environment here. A place to snack or eat or just have a beer or glass of very pleasant wine. |
Open
- Not sure, I never asked! Lunch times through to late evening I've eaten there.
Specialities: Spanish 'typical' home cooked Menu del Dia or order from the 'carta'. All fresh! Sit on the terrace with a salad! Nice. |

I ate here a short while ago with my daughter and we were both VERY impressed.
O.K, I'm no expert, but everything seemed to be good. The decor is a change from the norm and very good, the service is excellent and the food is delicious, to look at and eat.. Through hardwood framed windows you have a view of the gardens and the children's play area, further on the chickens and geese! Lovely. José, the governor, is very proud of the wine list and is hoping to mount important wine tastings here later in the year. The 'chef de autor' sure seems to know how to cook, and you can watch him too, if you wish. In short, for a special night out, this restaurant must be high on the list of options. |
Open
- I must get into the habit of asking opening hours. I guess normal evening
hours. Bear in mind the spanish eat later, around 9:30 - 10:00 is a good hour
in summer.
Specialities: Excellent wine. Childrens swings, etc, in nice gardens. Sweets are scrumptious! Make sure the credit card is full ;+) Worth a visit. |

In the old town, take the road at the bottom of the hill, by the roundabout,
that leads to the market square. Then take the first right and continue almost
to the end.

Smallish bar/restaurant with an excellent selection of wines. Becoming popular
with the older Brits living in Javea.
Service: Good, friendly, young staff, eager to please and serve with style! This is actually a 'vinacoteca', that is, a wine bar, so you could always visit to share a bottle or two of wine with friends. |
Open
- Normal restaurant hours. Maybe a good idea to book.
Specialities: Good cooking at very reasonable prices. The set menu, with good wine, is very impressive with a price that will amaze you |

Large bar/restaurant with an enormous terrace/garden. Been here for years, but

I was pleasantly surprised
when my daughter took me here recently. When you feel like good,
english 'cafe' food, this is the place to go, and very good prices.
Currently, if you get there between 2:00 and 6:00 pm you can take advantage of the special offer 2 menus for 5E. Service: Very good, friendly, english owner-run. |

Probably one of the busiest restaurants
on the Arenal, all year round!
Triple sized english 'good value' restaurant. Large terrace with view of Arenal bay. Very successful, very well decorated. And, yes, you can get fish and chips here! But very good! Now with special breakfast menu! Service: Very good considering the size. Staff mostly english, but Spanish also spoken. |

Old town, square below church/town hall.
|
Recently renovated
Good sized restaurant. On good weather days tables are set up in the square. Good, home style, Spanish cooking. Lots of 'tapas'. Rice dishes a speciality. Very popular, so may be best to book. Sitting at a table on a summer's evening with a group of friends in the town square is delightful. Trust the recommendations of Salva (the owner) , you won't regret it. Service: Good. Friendly, family atmosphere. Efficient, friendly and very polite, multilingual staff, English, Spanish, Valenciano and French (maybe a touch of German too). Artwork by Javea artists decorate the walls of this restaurant. Previous art exhibitions include: Ximo Canet Fernando Pagador. |
